What it does
Update notes usually answer “what did we ship?” when the question you have is “what am I missing?” /whats-new compares your installed version against the latest release and lists the difference in plain bullets: new commands, changed behavior, and fixes.
It's read-only on purpose: nothing installs until you decide. The output ends with the one-line update command, so acting on it is a single copy-paste.
